Scribbled personalities
Lately I’ve been giving myself a little exercise in drawing faces. I’ve vowed to draw 100 faces for both guys and gals. Doing pretty well with guys – almost to 72 there. But the ladies are kind of lagging behind, and I’m doing them in pencil. It’s been fun, and I can definitely see the patterns I get into – I tend to do very long noses, my eyebrows are usually arched dramatically rather than not, and dammit hair drives me crazy.
But I’ve really been enjoying seeing some of the personalities that have come from just a couple of lines thrown together. And when I’m not thinking too much, there’s a lovely ease to the portraits, and the life seems to exist even stronger. I wonder who this person is who I’ve drawn, wonder what kind of stories they’ve had, or could have. Expressions fascinate me, and the lines we build up over life through our ups and downs, our worries and joys. We are all so interesting. :)
I just wanna hug the guy on the bottom right and call him George, he’s so doofusy.
He needs to smack the bored dude on the left though, something fierce.
